LAFAYETTE 148
An iconic womenswear brand loved for its timeless styles.
When Lafayette 148 New York launched its direct-to-consumer e-commerce site and print catalog, the company grew exceptionally fast but lacked a true brand identity. I worked on the in-house creative team for two years as the lead copywriter. In this role, I developed the brand voice and aligned messaging across all consumer touchpoints including e-commerce, print catalog, emails, editorials, and digital ads.

From the runways to the street, designers and trendsetters are fully embracing head-to-toe coordination. the key to the monochromatic trend is to play with textures and levels of color to keep the look from falling flat. Accessorizing with a fur scarf is the perfect way to add dimension and elevate an outfit. Mixing textures like a chunky knit and suede creates tactile interest. Tonal leather combos add a touch of edginess.
To ease into the trend, style monochromatic outfits in neutral tones like we have done. Optic white is hugely popular this season and when worn from top to bottom, the look is exceptionally chic. Varying shades of chocolate hues make the quintessential fall ensemble.

"Pardon Our French"
French women always impress with their impeccable taste and effortlessly chic style. Our Indochino Jacquard embodies that certain je ne sais quoi with a vintage inspired pattern and utterly sophisticated color juxtaposition. We discovered this print within a premier Italian mill's extensive archives and used it to create this one-of-a-kind jacquard with an opulent yet refined look.
To help you achieve the same understated elegance that the French have mastered, we put together a short list of fashion rules to live by:
Get the Basics Right: Invest in classic pieces in the finest fabrics rather than splurging on every trend. When together a look, choose one item as the focal point.
Know Your Neutrals: Pair intricately detailed pieces and bold colors with neutrals like cream, black, or navy. Balance is key to perfecting a look that is refined yet current. A neutral item will offset more risky style choices with timeless appeal.
Edit Your Accessories: A single statement necklace or bracelet will suffice. Fashion icon Coco Chanel herself advised to always look in the mirror before leaving the house and remove on item from your outfit.
Keep Makeup Neutral: Fresh-faced is best. Instead of a dark smoky eye, opt for highlighting your single favorite feature with a touch of mascara or a subtle lip color.
